Trips offered have been labeled in a difficulty level grade. Easy, moderate and advanced. Also labeled is number of days for the particular objective. There is a brief trip description for every objective. Duration, season, (whether it is a late winter or spring objective will be noted).

Note - Bigger trip objectives on complex glacier will usually require some glacier training skills. The skills can be obtained one day prior to the trip departure or on an alternate date. The glacier skills day consists of crevasse rescue.

Rockies

Columbia Ice Fields:

Mnt Columbia

Moderate, 3 days, Late winter/spring conditions
Description:
Day 1: Meet in Lake Louise at 6 am. Drive to Columbia Ice fields. Ski tour through icefall and to “The Trench”. Set up camp, dinner and rest. 8 hrs travel from Ice fields.
Day 2: Breakfast at 6 am. Depart camp at 7am and ski tour to base of Mnt. Columbia. SE Face. Boot back/short rope face to summit 3-4 hrs from camp, depending on fitness. Advanced skier’s may ski face if conditions permit. Intermediate skiers will be short roped back down ascent route. Ski back to camp for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Breakfast at 6 am. Break and depart camp by 7:30 am. Ski tour back to Ice field’s parking. 4-6 hrs.

North Twin

Advanced, 2.5 days, spring conditions
Description:
Day 1: Meet in Lake Louise at 6 am. Drive to Columbia Icefield’s parking.
Ski tour through icefall and up on to Columbia Icefields. 4-6 hrs. Set up camp, dinner and rest. Day 2: Breakfast at 6am. Depart camp at 7am. Ski tour towards South Twin. Summiting and negotiating ascent of North Twin. Boot pack/short rope ascent/descent. 6 hrs. to North Twin Summit. Reverse line of ascent back to base camp. Dinner and rest.
Day 3: Breakfast at 7 am. Break and depart camp by 8:30am back to Ice field’s parking. 

South Twin

Moderate, 2 days, late winter/spring
Day 1: Meet in Lake Louise at 5 pm on the evening prior. Drive to Rampart Creek Hostel. Guide briefing and rest.
Day 2: Depart from hostel at 5 am to Columbia Icefield’s parking. Ski tour through icefall and up on to Columbia Icefields. Head up to South Twin summit. 6-8 hrs from parking lot. Ski descent back to parking.

Mount Castlegard

Moderate, 2 Days, winter/spring conditions
Day 1: Meet in Lake Louise village at 6 am. Laggen Coffee Co. Drive to Columbia Ice fields parking. Ski tour up and on to Columbia Icefield’s near Mnt Castlegard. 4-6 hrs. Set up Camp. Dinner and rest.
Day 2: Breakfast at 6am. Ski tour from camp to summit of Mnt Castlegard. 4 hrs. Ski descent back to camp. Break and depart camp. Ski to Columbia Icefield parking. 3 hrs.

Mnt. Snow Dome

Moderate, 1.5 days, late winter/spring conditions
Description:
Meet in Lake Louise at 5 pm on the evening prior. Drive to Rampart Creek Hostel. Guide briefing and rest.
Day 2: Depart from hostel at 5 am to Columbia Icefield’s parking. Ski tour through icefall and up on to Columbia Icefields. Head up to Snow Dome summit. 6 hrs from parking lot. Ski descent back to parking.

Saint Nicolas Peak

Moderate, 1 Day, winter/spring conditions
Meet in Lake Louise village at 7 pm on the evening prior. Sleep at Lake Louise Hostel. Guide briefing and rest.
Day 2: Depart from hostel at 5 am to Numtijah Lodge. Ski tour from Numtijah lodge to Nicolas summit. 6-8 hrs. Ski descent back to Numtijah lodge parking.

Surprise Pass Traverse

Moderate, 1 day, winter/spring conditions
Meet in Lake Louise village at 6 am at Laggens Coffee co. Ski tour from Chateau Lake Louise parking area up to saddle back pass. Wrap around back of Mnt Fairview. Ski descent into ??? valley. Below Aberdeen. Ski tour and boot pack up to surprise pass. 6 hrs. Ski descent down to Lake Louise. Easy ski tour back to vehicles.

Fairview Pass

Easy, 1 Day, winter/spring conditions
Meet in Lake Louise village at 7 am at Laggens Coffee co. Ski tour from Chateau Lake Louise parking area up to saddle back pass. 3 hrs. Ski powder for afternoon. Descend back to parking

Lake Louise Ski Area:
West Bowl Powder Ski Sessions

Easy, 1 Day, winter/spring conditions
Meet at Lake Louise ski area Coffee Co. at 8 am. Ride ski lifts to summit of White horn. Exit ski area to off piste into West bowl. Powder ski descent of West bowl into lower maintenance trees back to base of ski area. Repeat until end of day. A high quality day with endless powder turns. Recommended .

Lake Louise Ski Area
West bowl, Burnt Trees and Maintenance Bowl Ski tour

Easy, 1 Day, winter/spring conditions
Meet at Lake Louise ski are Coffee Co. at 8 am. . Ride ski lifts to summit of Whitehorn Exit. Off piste into West bowl. Ski descent of West Bowl. Ski tour up to burnt trees. Ski burnt trees and descend Lower Maintenance trail. Exit back to Ski base by 4:00pm.

Lake Louise Ski Area Purple Bowl

Easy, 1 Day, winter/spring conditions
Meet at Lake Louise ski are Coffee Co. at 8 am. . Ride ski lifts to summit of larch chair.

Exit ski area towards Purple bowl. Powder ski numerous laps on Purple bowl. Enter back to ski area and base by 4:00pm.

Whitehorn

Field Group, BC Mount Field

Moderate, 1 Day, winter/spring conditions
Meet in Lake Louise at Laggens Coffee Co. at 6 am. Drive to Takkakaha falls road near

Field, BC. Ski tour up road, wrapping around to North side of Mnt Field. Ski touring into upper bowl and onto summit. 4 hrs. Numerous powder skiing laps can be had in the upper bowl. Ski descent via ascent route back to vehicle.
